A Year of Thankfulness

Daddy, Emma, and Molly play Uno Tippo

Thankful for nights like this one.

This is the first week of 2013.  In year’s past, I would have a resolution like, lose weight, go to the gym, eat better, get home to see family, the usual.  This year however, I am dedicated to being truly thankful for my life and all the blessings in it.

Just to be clear, I am already so aware of how amazing my life is.  I am stronger and healthier than I have ever been.  I am in a happy relationship with a wonderful man, my King Edward.  I have insanely adorable (if slightly unruly) furry children.  My parents, and my sister are healthy.  The extended family is safe and healthy and mostly happy.  My step-son and his mother are close by and add to my daily list of blessings.  I have an amazing circle of friends, near and far who make my days brighter.  And I have a job I love and the opportunity to continue my education.  These are big, important, life affirming things and I am truly thankful for each of them.

But there are many other things that I am thankful for this year.  Smaller little miracles that make me smile, or make me cry, and fill my life with joyous moments.  So I think that it is important to recognize those as well.  There are 365 days in a year.  I am shooting for one per day.  One special item to focus on each day that made me say, “Yep, that is pretty awesome.”  Keep checking in and I will do my best to share some of them with you.

Love, hoops, and happiness everyone!
